U12 Lady Predators finish Runner Up in Bazooka Tournament

The U12 Lady Predators traveled to Kissimmee on May 5th and 6th to compete in the BSI Bazooka tournament. After a tough 3-2 win in opening match versus a local Orlando team, they closed out pool play by winning their next 2 games against local Brandon clubs to finish on top of the group with 9 points. The finals proved to be a tough rematch from pool play and while the Lady Predators were not able to pull out the victory, we are proud of how far this 1st year competitive team has come this season. Congratulations to the girls and to coach Staci Schreier!

Valrico Girls win Region A/C Cup!!

The Valrico U15 Lady Raptors team followed up their Region C Championship with another victory; this time in the 2012 Region A/C cup in Ft. Myers April 21st and 22nd. The Region A/C Cup pits the winners and runner-ups from Region C against the Region A teams from South Florida. On Saturday, the Lady Raptors defeated the Tropical Soccer Blaze 3-0 and on Sunday defeated TBU 3-2 in PK's in a rematch of the Region C final. This team had an exceptional run this season, going undefeated in league play, undefeated in Region C preliminary round, and winning the Region C championship along with the Region A/C Cup. Congratulations to the girls and to coach Sean Donovan on a memorable season!!

The Valrico U12 Lady Pride!!

The Valrico U12 Lady Pride also were in Ft. Myers Aril 21st and 22nd to compete in the Region A/C Cup. On Saturday, the Lady Pride had a impressive 3-0 win over Miramar Optimist United. The game on Sunday ended up a rematch of the Region C final but this time the Lady Pride cooled the Hernando Heat in a tough 1-0 game to bring home the 2012 Region A/C trophy. This team, coached by Rebecca Santner, has come a long way in only their 2nd competitive season! Congratulations to the girls and to coach Santner on a job well done!!

Region Cup Update March 31 – April 1

U15 Lady Raptors Region C Champs!!

After fighting through a tough semifinal game against Braden River with a 2-0 win, the U15 girls brought home the Region C championship by defeating TBU in the final. The final was tied after full time and remained tied after 2 overtime periods. After being tied through the first round of penalty kicks, the Valrico girls prevailed for the victory after the 3rd sudden death penalty kick. Congratulations to the Valrico Lady Raptors and Coach Sean Donovan on a well deserved victory! The Lady Raptors will return to Ft. Myers the weekend of April 21-22 to compete in the Division 2 Cup against Region A finalists. The Club is proud of what the girls have accomplished and wishes them well at Division 2 Cup!

2 Valrico teams headed to Region C final 4 – March 31-April 1

The U15 Lady Raptors are making a return trip to the Region C final 4 and third trip in the last 4 years. The Lady Raptors are following up last year’s Region C Cup run that saw them make it to the finals only to lose a tough game in double overtime. The Lady Raptors completed an undefeated league season going 7-0-3 while giving up only 5 goals. As far as this season’s Region Cup run, Coach Sean is very proud of the girls. “With our brave and courageous handling of the loose ball, the defense and offense were able to meticulously wear down each opponent and strike at the right moments. These girls have much to be proud of and I am so very proud to coach them”, said coach Sean Donovan. “Well done for 4 games in 26.5 hours!”

Joining the Lady Raptors in Ft. Myers will be the U12 Lady Pride. After a tough run through the first and knock-out rounds, the Lady Pride are making a trip to the final 4 in only their second season. The girls fought through and won 2 tough games in the knock-out stage that both went to penalty kicks. Congratulations to the U12 girls and coach Rebecca Santner. The club is very proud of both teams and wishes both the best of luck for continued good form. Bring back a championship!

U10 Boys Roar to Victory!

Congratulations to the U10 Boys Roar on their recent tournament victory at the 2012 Largo March Madness tournament. The tournament was played over the March 17-18 weekend in Largo. The boys went through the group stage undefeated and then won the final match 2-1. Congratulations to the boys and coach Mark and coach Tom.

U18 Valrico Venom girls win Revolution Cup tournament!

The U18 Valrico girls won the U19 division of the Revolution Cup tournament held over the weekend of April 2-3, 2011. A stingy defense and timely scoring led to some exciting games over the weekend and was a great way to end the season. Congratulations to coach Chelsea and all the girls on a tremendous effort. Go Valrico Venom!!!

Valrico U14 Lady Raptors Region C Finalists!!

The Valrico U14 Lady Raptors went on a tremendous run through Region C Cup play by winning 5 straight games to get to the finals. During those 5 games they gave up 0 goals and scored 11 by 9 different players and exhibited tremendous team play. Despite losing the Regional Final 1-0 in an exciting double overtime game, the Lady Raptors were sent through to the FYSA Championships for Region A & C. They will be playing this weekend, April 2 and 3 in Jupiter, FL. Valrico Soccer Club wishes the girls and Coach Sean and Coach Alan all the best in the Championships. Go Lady Raptors!!

Valrico U11 Lady Pride make Largo Tourney Finals!!

The U11 girls team made it to the finals of the Largo March Madness Shootout tournament held over the March 19-20 weekend. The Final was a hard-fought game and the girls were tied 0-0 through regulation time and 2-2 through 5 penalty shootout rounds. They eventually lost in the sudden death penalty round but were proud of their play over the 4 games played in a 30 hour stretch. Valrico Soccer Club is proud of the accomplishments of this first year team under the guidance of Coach Rebecca. Go Pride!!

Our Developmental League is designed to teach proper soccer fundamentals to young players in a fun, supportive, fair, and sportsmanlike environment. In house teams are co-ed U5 - U15.

MISSION

The Valrico Youth Soccer Club was founded in 1996 as a Competitive Soccer Club and will remain as such. The D-League is the foundation of fun and growth for the Soccer Club as our players desire to progress into Competitive soccer.

The goal of the Valrico Youth Soccer Club is to enhance the knowledge of the player, coach and parent in the game of soccer and ensure that fun and excellence are the priorities of the club. Mastering the games' techniques and tactics through the training methods provided by the training and coaching staff and adhering to the VSC program is our goal. Part of this mission is to also teach the values of being a good sport.

Coaches should be mentors to our youth and build up character, fun and athleticism for all walks of life. Skills will be taught on how to conduct oneself in a competitive environment (emotional discipline), teamwork (corporate association), physically and mentally working hard (work ethic), punctuality (personal responsibility), learning to give and receive instructions (leadership), to have respect for others and nurture lifelong friendships (sportsmanship); we should be gracious in defeat and humble in victory.

Why do we gather around this game? The answer is simple and that is to witness our young children/ players excel at the game of soccer. The focus of winning only has it's attention on glory and not on the achievements of the players or team. Excellence has to do with the method of achieving success, so be on the lookout for excellent soccer skills and hard work, rewarding it with the praise it deserves whether the team wins or loses.

To critique without understanding is negative and destructive, but knowledge can build one's confidence to compete with excellence while having fun. Our coaches lead and instruct, our players are the only ones involved in playing the game and our parents are to encourage. It is the responsibility of all members to learn what our goals and procedures are at the Valrico Soccer Club and apply them.

We are a club that develops players first and foremost and while trying to win is the premise we all take to the field when competing, we cannot put that above the development of the player and the team. As the team and players get better so does the win/loss record. Winning is not first, it is the product of excellent coaching, training and players who learn to execute techniques and tactics on the playing fields.
