Board Positions Duties of the Officers up for Election President: Shall preside at all meetings and be well versed in parliamentary procedures and thoroughly familiar with the Club's Constitution and By-laws. He/she may appoint committees and delegate the functions. He/she is the Club's representative at all USA and FYSA meetings. He/she shall manage all matters concerning the operation of the Club, including encouraging coaches to attend clinics and license schools as well as enforcing disciplinary action. He/she shall be bonded. Vice President: Shall assist the President in the accomplishment of his/her duties and shall serve in his/her stead in the President's absence. He/she is also responsible for soliciting corporations and individuals for donated funds and equipment for use by the club. He/she coordinates the annual fall picture schedule for the competitive and TARSA teams as well as coordinates all sponsor recognition to include obtaining and distributing sponsor plaques. He/she shall be bonded. (note: should the President be unable to fulfill his/her term of office, the Vice-President does not automatically assume the vacancy. Instead the vacancy would be filled in accordance with Article V, Section 5 of the Constitution). Secretary: Shall record the minutes of all meetings, keep record of the voting members, keep records of the Club, and attend to all correspondence. He/she is responsible for notifying the general membership of elections and general membership meetings. Treasurer: Shall collect any dues and make disbursement approved by the Board; see to it that detailed records are kept in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, and shall work with an audit committee appointed by the president to inspect the books annually in May and insure that all tax paperwork is completed in a timely manner. He/she shall be bonded. Vice-President of Field Operations: Plans, schedules, and coordinates the execution of training, practice, games, and special events held at the Club's facilities. Plans field layout and use of space to balance the needs of the different programs with field upkeep. Tasks the leagues and competitive teams to support field preparation, clean-up, and field Marshall duties to support the Club's schedule. Is the point of contact for outside agencies wishing to use the Club's facilities. Vice President of Uniforms: Responsible for the purchase and distribution of all competitive uniforms for the Club, as well as other club attire available to all VSC members (i.e. backpacks, polo shirts, t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc…). When necessary, secures cost information on new uniform alternatives to be evaluated by the Board of Directors. He/she shall be bonded. Vice President of Competitive: Responsible for the Competitive program at VSC. Functions as the liaison between the Teams (coaches, players and parents) and the Board of Directors. Coordinates with the VP of Field Maintenance to insure the acquisition and upkeep of all equipment necessary to operate the Club's competitive program. Vice President of Recreational: Responsible for the Developmental and TARSA leagues at VSC. Coordinates with the Directors of the leagues and the VP of Field Maintenance to insure the acquisition and upkeep of all equipment necessary to operate the Club's recreational programs. |
